On the night of 18 December to 19 December 2012 the PWFD provided a mutual aid FAST truck, 8522, to the Great Neck Alert Fire Company. The Signal 10, working fire alarm, was transmitted around 2015 on the 18th. The building was a house under construction on Bayport Lane in Great Neck.

A FAST, firefighter assist and search team, is a form of a rapid intervention crew intended to aid or help other firefighters in trouble. Mutual aid was also provided by the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department, Fire Department City of New York, and the Great Neck Vigilant Fire Company.
