On the evening of June 12th 2012 PWFD units were returning from training at the Nassau County Fire Service Academy, in Bethpage, when they came upon a bus fire on the Long Island Expressway at Exit 44.
Assistant Chief Ryan along with the crew of Engine 856 assisted the Plainview Fire Department with extinguishing the bus fire. The bus was out of service and being transported for maintenance when it caught fire. The PWFD is proud to have been able to assist our brothers and sisters from the Plainview Fire Department.
