On the evening of Wednesday, November 27th it was brought to the attention of the Port Washington Fire Department that a fire engine was parked on Shore Road displaying an election sign for the upcoming Special District elections. The matter was immediately investigated. The investigation found that the vehicle was NOT a PWFD vehicle and is in fact owned by the candidate. Additionally the vehicle was parked on private property therefore there was nothing the Department could do about the matter. Unfortunately this incident has caused several inquires to the Department. We want to take the time to reassure all of the people of Port Washington that the PWFD would never utilize a piece of our valuable equipment for this purpose nor does the department endorse any of the candidates in the Special District elections. ... Thank you. People are so ridiculous.

Is it considered a commercial vehicle? If not every district, village, city, town, COUNTY has some type of ordinance that covers just about anything including throwing FRISBEES in parks

Is it the squad engine that comes out of Ohio ave?

Happy Thanksgiving to the PWFD AND THEIR FAMILIES.

Why was engine 55 parked in the parking lot of the barbecue restaurant on Shore Rd with an election sign for Frank Scobbo on it.To use a piece of equipment for electioneering is wrong. What if it was needed for a fire? I would think the safety of the residents should be more important then trying to help elect someone to a position that has nothing to do with the PWFD. The PWFD needs to stay impartial with elections in other agencies so whoever wins they can work together to serve the community.
