This past summer the PWFD was joined by Nassau County Legislator Wayne H. Wink Jr., of the 11th Legislative District, at the Nassau County Fire Service Academy.

Training both in Port Washington and at the Fire Service Academy is a regular part of a volunteer firefighter’s duties. The Fire Service Academy in Bethpage allows for firefighters to train, in live burn evolutions, in buildings ranging from high-rise towers, commercial shopping centers, MTA rail-road cars, and tractor trailers.
